Games at Brick Fiesta 2012
Please note that many of these games require that you sign up at the registration desk in order to participate. This is noted in the descriptions below. Please read carefully! Game Participation reserved for FULL MEMBERS only. Public can view on Sat and Sun.
LEGO Trivia
Compete in a LEGO-themed trivia contest. Prizes will be awarded!
Heroica
Come and play in the magical world of Heroica! We will have a 16 person single elimination tournament. 16 players enter the world only 1 will win. Do you have what it takes to beat the Orc King? Sign up sheets are available at the registration booth. You must sign up before the event to participate.
Brick Wars (Quick Wars)
Will be playing a modified version of Brick Wars: Quick Wars. Dice and LEGO figures will be provided. You can bring your own as well. This will be fast placed game. The game is very limited to the number of players and sign up sheets are available at the registration booth. You must be signed up to play and you must be able to play at the time you sign up for.
LEGO Telephone
One person has the instructions, their partner has the pieces! Teams of two will attempt to build a LEGO set. The partner with the instructions will have to tell the other person how to put the set together, and the person with the pieces isn’t allowed to see the instructions!
Dirty Brickster (two sessions)
White elephant-style (Lego-related) gift exchange. $20 recommended limit on gifts. Stick it to the other guy for fun
Lego Wiz War
Wiz War is a beer and pretzels game of capture the flag with a dynamic playing field. One of our fellow TexLUG’ers has translated this game into an advanced LEGO MOC for our enjoyment. The game can support up to 9 players. All equipment will be provided.
Kids Creationary
Come play an exciting round of LEGO’s Creationary! Kids and parents are welcome to play on the same team or head to head. Winners from each round will compete until only one remains! Sign up sheets are available at the registration booth. You must sign up before the event to participate. Parent must accompany children under 13.
LEGO Derby
This is the LEGO version of a Pinewood Derby. Bricks and wheels will be provided. Build a vehicle on site and the race it down parallel tracks. Points given for speed.
Speed Builds
Compete in teams building small and medium sized LEGO sets. Each team will be given a set, and they will be timed on how long it takes to completely assemble the set as per the LEGO instructions. Sign up sheets are available at the registration booth. You must sign up before the event to participate.
Speed Build – Large Set
A single team will be given one large or extra large LEGO set. They must completely assemble the set as per the LEGO instructions. They will be timed, and this time will be compared against teams building the same set at other events (or, if no such set has been used in a previous speed build, a new time will be officially established). Sign up sheets are available at the registration booth. You must sign up before the event to participate.
Creative Build Contest
Participants will be given a pre-selected theme and a 30 minute time slot. They will build a MOC in that theme, and after 30 minutes, judges will determine the best MOC. The number of themes and groups of builders will be determined based on the number of folks who sign up. The more people we have, the more groups and themes we can have. Participants will be given access to one of the event kits to build from. No outside parts are allowed.
Late Night Creationary
Come get your goofy on and play some late night Creationary. Join your fellow AFOLs in rounds of hilarious building! Certificates will be awarded for worst builds. Children are welcome but this event is more for the adults. Sign up sheets are available at the registration booth. You must sign up before the event to participate.
